Matt lead a team of ten researchers and staff members. He conducted research internationally in over 25 countries including in Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Central African Republic, India, Gaza, Togo, Lebanon, Nepal, the Philippines, India and Sri Lanka. His overseas research involved extensive field work in emergency relief camps, refugee centers, and remote villages to gain first hand experience of the challenging conditions overseas workers face.
Domestically, Matt and his team spent time in physician's offices and exam rooms, teachers lounges and class rooms, and churches and pastor's studies to gain first-hand insights into the work and lives of people in the helping and healing professions. In addition to field work, their surveys capture data from more than 10,000 participants. The team also launched a first-of-its-kind mobile application to capture daily experiences from several hundred research subjects. |
